Introduction:
Some people develop a third set of molars and others don’t. The “wisdom teeth” may come in inappropriately and will require treatment.
Symptoms:
A cyst may form if a wisdom tooth becomes infected and you may notice swelling around your gums and cheeks. If a wisdom tooth starts to come in at an awkward position contact your dentist.
Diagnosis:
Xrays will allow your dentist to observe the alignment of the molars.
Treatment:
No treatment is necessary if your wisdom teeth have plenty of room to emerge correctly, but if they become problematic extraction may be advised.
