Introduction:
Your new braces may be the kind that can be removed when you eat. If not your orthodontist can give you tips that may make it easier to eat while wearing braces.
Symptoms:
Once your braces have been attached they may need adjustment from time to time. The procedure might cause you some discomfort and you may find it difficult to chew afterward.
Diagnosis:
If you experience undue pain after eating your dentist may recommend an over the counter remedy.
Treatment:
You may need to change some of your eating habits in order to avoid damaging your braces as well as to control the level of discomfort some foods may cause. Avoid ice or hard foods, stay with the softer ones or steam your fresh vegetables.
Your dentist may suggest carrying a toothbrush along with you just in case a food particle gets caught in your braces.
